NAR Extends Its Reach in Brazil and China

China and Brazil are the #4 and #6 (respectively) ranked countries investing in US real estate. As their interest in purchasing homes in the United States continues to grow, getting to know them and learning how to do business with them becomes increasingly important.

This is where NAR’s partnerships with about 80 associations in 60 countries comes in handy. One of the requirements of these bilateral partnerships is that the members of the organization must abide by a code of ethics (similar to NAR’s), ensuring that US REALTORS┬« have real, credible and trustworthy referral partners in all areas of the world.

To that end, NAR has formed partnerships with the Chinese Institute of Real Estate Appraisers and Agents (CIREA) in China and the Federal Council of Real Estate Brokers (COFECI) in Brazil. The NAR-COFECI partnership was made official on the expo floor at the conference as Moe Veissi and Joao Teodoro de Silva signed the agreement and cut the ribbon. The agreement with CIREA will be made official in 2013.

We are fortunate enough to have large delegations from both countries here at the convention, 75 representatives from Brazil and 80 from China.
